Te-Andre A. Brown
Te-Andre A. Brown was a Senior Business Administration Scholar born in Jamaica, and raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He was a first-generation college student and was poised to graduate from Florida A&M University in the Fall of 2020.
Te-Andre stepped foot on the Highest of Seven Hills in the Fall of 2016 and was determined to leave his mark. While at FAMU, he helped recruit students for the School of Business and Industry and joined many other organizations such as ARMY ROTC, The Pershing Rifles, and the Beta Nu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He joined The Omega Xi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity, Inc. in the Fall of 2018 and is part of the Alpha Gamma Class.
He lost his life being the man we all knew him to be on March 15th, 2020, in a boating accident. He put his life on the line to save someone else’s. The loss of our brother deeply saddens us, but we will continue to keep his name alive. Te-Andre had a passion for serving his community and always put others’ needs before his own. He was a dedicated, strong-willed, charismatic, passionate, caring, and carefree young man, and we must never forget that he was a hero in the truest sense of the word.
Alfonso E. Barber
Alfonso Barber was a dedicated scholar, poet and friend with an ambitious and magnetic spirit. He was led by what made his soul soar: poetry, people, and community. He passed November 2021.
He was proudly from Newberry, Florida, where he graduated from Newberry High School in 2014. After, he became a Rattler and attended Florida A&M University through 2018, when he received his Bachelor's degree in Journalism. While there, he was a sports writer for the FAMUAN newspaper, and could often be seen on the side of a football field with a camera outstretched, or reporting on camera. Al illuminated every part of campus with his smile.
He was expansive, always seeking out new adventures and life experiences. During his time at FAMU, he joined Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity, Inc., National Association of Journalism, and Voices Poetry Group. He was a dedicated scholar who committed his time to bettering his craft and his community, through service, hard work, and brotherhood.
Al’s motto, “Stay Black, blessed and beautiful,” reverberates now as we honor his memory.
